Outside Sales Representative

We are a successful, stable, longstanding Metal Fabricating operation located in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in need of an experienced Outside Sales Representative to service our existing customers and develop our growing national client base.

Working under the direction of our Sales Manager, you’ll develop a keen understanding of our highway crash cushion and guardrail product lines, then work to expand our reach as you oversee the entire customer management lifecycle, including prospecting new customers, managing existing customer accounts, developing quotes, negotiating prices, and monitoring customer service issues. This position is great for a “hunter” who’s not afraid to knock on new doors to develop new relationships with a variety of customers, including government municipalities and construction clients alike. Out of state travel is involved.

You’ll need 3+ years Outside Sales experience, particularly in steel fabrication or a related field.  Technical aptitude, along with solid communications, organization, and computer (Word, Excel, Internet) skills required.

Accounts Receivable / General Sales Office Assistant

Highway Safety Corporation

We are a successful, stable, longstanding Metal Fabricating operation located in Glastonbury, Connecticut, in need of an experienced Accounts Receivable coordinator and office assistant to help oversee our customer collections and help keep our busy offices running smoothly. Duties include:

  • Contacting delinquent customers via phone to secure payment
  • Printing/mailing statements
  • Bringing all customer collections issues to the functional managers attention
  • Performing credit checks
  • Heavy phone activity and computer use
  • Filing and faxing customer invoices
  • Order entry (sales orders & quotes)
  • Order project plans
  • Update and maintain state bid spreadsheets

Account Manager/Sales Representative

The Account Manager/Sales Representative will work with a group of customers to handle order flow from quotation to shipment.

--Expedite and submit quotations to customers in a timely and accurate fashion
--Contract, purchase order review, negotiation and sales order entry
--Processing of customer engineering, quality, pricing and other contract changes
--Proactively promote on-time deliveries to customers via participation in production meetings, special new product introduction meetings and creating a team approach to meet customers’ delivery requirements
--Follow-up and negotiating of submitted customer quotations
--Coordinating customer delivery, commercial and technical requirements with the appropriate Horst personnel.

Inside Sales & Estimating

We are a Waterford, Connecticut sheet metal fabricator seeking an experienced inside sales and estimating professional to help develop our rapidly growing business.

What We Need is someone who can expertly:

  • Analyze documentation (blueprints, specifications, proposals, etc.) to prepare time, costs, and labor estimates using an MRP system
  • Build travelers based on best practices for parts to flow through the shop
  • Review data, compute cost factors, prepare estimates, and consult with clients
  • Turn estimates around rapidly
  • Follow-up on quotes
  • Work with our outside sales team to maintain current relationships with buyers
  • Review complete jobs for corrections and negotiate recalculated prices

Quality Assurance Manager

Sterling Engineering, a manufacturer of medium to large complex machined parts servicing aerospace, ground energy and other technical industries has an immediate opening for a Quality Assurance Manager. We are looking for candidates with exceptionally strong leadership skills who embrace new technology and possess advanced quality systems experience within an AS9100 environment. As an integral part of our senior management team you will play an active role in strategizing and setting the direction for our continued growth and profitability. Additionally, you will play an active role in continuous improvement efforts by supporting existing improvement initiatives as well as identifying and selecting those areas in need of improvement.


Core Responsibilities: Initiate, implement and maintain quality improvement activities to continuously improve manufacturing quality. Monitor and analyze process/product outputs, identify systematic problems and opportunity areas. Lead the expansion and sustainment of our quality culture throughout our internal organization as well as our supplier base.


Requirements: 4 year technical degree, minimum 5 years experience in aerospace manufacturing environment (prefer complex machining environment).Solid metrology and mechanical layout experience is necessary. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are required. Successful candidate must have demonstrated successful experience in Lean implementation, driving waste out of the quality system and developing cost effective means of assuring the highest quality standards. You must be an effective leader, communicator and have the ability to build a solid quality team within the organization. Hands on working experience with Six Sigma, PCP, FMEA and VSM is a must.

To be successful, you will need to be a strategic planner with a work history in general manufacturing management, a working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, experience developing budgets & dealing with financials, and a proven record of inclusive yet assertive leadership. An engineering background and experience in either the medical or aerospace industries all a definite plus.

Production/Engineering Manager
